St William of Perth Catholic Primary school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Parents and carers expect the school to provide a safe, secure and caring environment in which their children can flourish. To meet this expectation, the school implements a wide range of measures and policies, including the school’s Safeguarding & Child Protection policy and Health & Safety policy. Parents and carers are welcome to read these Policies on request or download from our website.

On the website there are downloadable booklets for children and parents. There are also copies of the downloads available in other languages and specific booklets to support children with ASD and other learning difficulties.
A member of the NSPCC team will be visiting our school in Term 3 to deliver an assembly to the whole school on this topic area and leading workshops for children in years 5 and 6.
Online safety
Our children have regular access to the internet as part of their learning and our curriculum teaches and encourages responsible online behaviour ensuring children are allowed to enhance their learning safely through the use of technology and be aware of potential danger.
In school we use a filtering system which prevents children from accessing inappropriate sites. Our computing curriculum ensures children are progressively taught how to keep themselves safe online.
Today’s society means that children will sometimes be given unsupervised access to the internet. Potentially, this will allow them access to all kinds of material both appropriate and inappropriate. To support families at home, we offer tips and advice on how to keep children safe online in our weekly newsletters.
