Year 3

Welcome to St Patrick's Class!

Our class is named after St Patrick, The patron saint of Ireland, who is remembered for his faith, kindness, courage and dedication to helping others learn about God.

Throughout the year, we enjoy learning about St Patrick's life and the important values he demonstrated every day. He showed perseverance when faced with challenges, compassion towards others and a strong sense of faith. Each year, we celebrate St Patrick's Feast Day on 17th March, taking time to reflect on his life, learn about his mission and celebrate the positive difference he made to so many people.

By following St Patrick's example, we aim to grow not only in our learning but also as caring, thoughtful and responsible members of God's family and the wider community.

Class Teacher: Miss Buchanan

Class TA: Miss Lane

Class DoJo: Parents and carers are welcome to contact Miss Buchanan  Via ClassDojo between 8:30am - 4pm. Please note that any urgent messages should be sent through the school office, as ClassDoJo messages may not be seen immediately during the school day.

Homework: Homework will be set each Friday and should be completed and returned by Wednesday of the following week. Homework will be sent home in your child's homework folder, which should be returned to school along with the completed work. The homework folder helps to keep children's work organised and protected, so we ask that it is looked after carefully.

If your child's homework folder is lost or damaged, please contact the school office to arrange a replacement.

P.E. Kits: Please ensure that all P.E. kit items are clearly labelled with your child's name before they are brough into school. Children should come to school with:

- School P.E. Top

- Shorts

- Trainers or Plimsolls

During colder weather, children may wear dark-coloured tracksuit bottoms and a dark coloured jumper or sweatshirt if they wish.

For heath and safety reasons, please ensure that all jewellery is removed before your child comes to school. If your child wears earrings, they should either be removed at home or your child should be able to remove them independently before P.E. Lessons.

Term 1

P.E. - P.E. will be on a Wednesday afternoon.

First Holy Communion

In Year 3, children have the opportunity to prepare for and receive their First Holy Communion through the parish. This is a very special milestone in their faith journey, helping them to grow closer to God and become more involved in the life of the Church.

Preparation for Frist Hold Communion takes place through the parish programme. If you would like more information about enrolling your child, please speak to Fr Neil, or your parish priest after Mass, who will be happy to provide further details and guidance.
